The Ride

A challenging 1200km bike ride over 7 days, across terrain that personifies outback Queensland, meanders through remote local towns and brings you in touch with personalities at the heart of Australia’s community culture.

The Dates

The ride will depart Brisbane (Amberley) on Saturday 18th April 2020 and arrive in Longreach on Friday 24th April. Riders will then have the option on Saturday 25th April, to to attend a dawn service for Anzac Day and attend the Longreach Races* before departing back to Brisbane. Itinerary as follows:

Sunday 19th April Arrive Chinchilla
Monday 20th April Arrive Roma
Tuesday 21st April Arrive Mitchell
Wednesday 22nd April Arrive Augathella
Thursday 23rd April Arrive Blackall
Friday 24th April Arrive Longreach
Saturday 25th April or Sunday 26th April Return to Brisbane

*Race date yet to be confirmed.

What we provide

  • Up to 40 riders in the peleton
  • Fully escorted ride. Police escorts on day one, and fully piloted the entire trip
  • Team of approximately 12 support staff 
  • Medic in escort vehicle immediately behind riders, with
    on board defibulator and full Royal Flying Doctors Service
    medicine chest and satellite phone
  • Mechanic
  • Full radio contact between ride leaders and support
    vehicle
  • All meals and shared accommodation for the week
  • Return flights to Brisbane
  • 2 full riding kits
  • Fruit, snacks and other ride consumables
  • Hydrolyte & bottled drinking water
  • Ice baths
