One day down!!
Plenty of dry empty paddocks for the peloton to see today. Had numerous conversations with fellow riders about the state of western Queensland at the moment and how bad things are and the effect it is having on its residents. Hard to believe there are no stock apart from a few sheep. We are riding for such a good and at the moment, hugely important cause. We still have a few days of this emptiness to come. I am sure everyone has a new appreciation for how tough these communities are doing at present.
From a ride perspective it doesn’t get much better than today. A cool start in Longreach soon turned to perfect riding conditions, 27 degrees and a tailwind the whole way. Fingers crossed that holds for tomorrow.
